About Lucy
I’m Lucy and I am a qualified, experienced secondary English teacher with seventeen years of experience. I have taught in a range of secondary schools both in and outside of London and most recently, in an international school in Bangkok. I have a PGCE in English and a Master’s degree in leadership. I am currently teaching in a London school but I’m looking forward to expanding into the world of tutoring.
I have experience of teaching English Language and Literature GCSE and IGCSE; A Level Language and A Level Literature and IB Diploma English Language and Literature A. I also have a TEFL qualification and have taught English as a second language to non-native speakers. Additionally, I am an examiner for the IB and I am skilled at preparing students for exams.

I’m passionate about my subject and my core belief is that everyone can achieve! I have a successful track record of enabling my students to achieve their potential and I believe that success is borne out of developing a growth mindset.
My style is very much one of encouragement and support with an aim to building self-confidence and self-belief in my students. In short, I’m flexible and intend to personalise my students' learning experience so we will begin by drawing up a plan of action and some targets for success!

I offer free cancellation up to 12 hours before a scheduled lesson. Any lesson cancelled within 12 hours of the scheduled time will be charged 50%.
