About Orit

Orit Hirsch is a NYC-based dance educator, professional tap dancer and choreographer.
Orit has been teaching for 15 years, trained in Tap, Ballet and Contemporary Lyrical. Orit studied under the guidance of Mandy Kol, Sharon Lavi, Zvia Brumer and Yuval Beck, was a member of TEMPO group, performed in the show Time2Tap (Artistic Director: Yuval Beck) and worked with leading theaters - 'Cameri' and 'Habima' as a Tap coach for the productions of Funny Girl, My Fair Lady and Singin' In The Rain.
Currently on faculty (tap) at Broadway Dance Center NYC.
Her classes focus on technical skills, musicality, clarity of sound, finding the breath in the movement, and most importantly creating a safe space and a supportive community.
Orit offers private sessions, group sessions and choreography.

About the lesson

Classes are tailored to the student's level and needs whether they are looking for choreography for events, competitions or simply want to stay in shape and learn a new style.
Classes focus on technical skills, musicality, clarity of sound, finding the breath in the movement, and most importantly creating a safe space and a supportive community. It's never too late to start tap dancing!

Orit would work on material that my regular teacher would not. Like improvisation, and clarity of sound. Orit is very precise and gives clear explanations of the steps. She is also very encouraging and cheerful. She can easily teach both beginner and advanced students. I've seen this range in her teaching. Orit is also a wonderful dancer and can so she can demonstrate the moves with style and class.

I rent a studio for the private lessons so the price will change according to the selected studio. I'm always open to discuss the price and financial abilities. Studio rentals in the city are $35-50/hr.
