As a professional with 17 years of experience in the education sector, I am well positioned to use my EdTech / teaching experience to help your academy grow. I aim to foster a learning environment that enables students to develop inquiry, knowledge, and thinking skills of the 21st century. I use a student-centred approach that meets the needs of diverse learners. I believe that the right use of technology could be an invaluable tool to promote active learning.
My current teaching style for my IGCSE / A Level students involves the use of the following technology platforms and strategies:
1. GoFormative / Quizizz for checking prior knowledge at the beginning of the lesson.
2. OneNote for content delivery.
3. Nearpod for building interactive lessons that can be delivered during a live or student-paced session.
4. GoFormative / Quizizz for end of lesson plenary/homework
5. PhET / Gizmos for physics simulations
6. Edpuzzle for interactive videos that are incorporated at either the beginning / during the lesson or simply as a homework assignment
7. I record my lessons for my students to replay and make their own notes.
8. Individualised voice comments on exam answers as feedback
9. Short video recordings providing an analysis of different exam questions
10. SenecaLearning website for adaptive learning as an effective revision tool
11. Using Google Chat rooms for my classes as a way of encouraging collaborative work between students and myself
