About Max
Greetings! I am a math and physical science tutor with an expansive breadth of knowledge and a master's in chemistry education (graduated summa cum laude). I have been teaching/tutoring for 7+ years. Teaching and tutoring is my passion and inspiring the youth is my hobby.
I work with students and parents to provide them with the support and tools to be successful in STEM classrooms. Beyond my expansive knowledge of chemistry, I also am nationally certified to teach mathematics up through calculus 2, although my specialties are in statistics, geometry, and trigonometry. I additionally have experience teaching and tutoring environmental science and physics at both the high school and collegiate level.
My tutoring goes beyond the content and I will also work with scholars on developing their own positive study habits and routines, provide test-taking strategies, and tools on how to engage with the content in the most effective ways.
I am available both in person and virtual, but charge more for in-person visits to account for gas and drive time. I look forward to working with you

Typically, I will request some context as to the topic or subtopic of focus 2-3 days in advance so I may prepare for our tutoring sessions. I will also request snapshots of recent notes, assignments to get an idea of your current skill level in the class.
I am a very high-energy educator, with a knack for taking complex topics and breaking them down into simple-to-understand concepts. I am an expert at scaffolding content in order to develop a full understanding and identify strategies for success.
I will usually curate a short lesson plan primarily focused on helping you both complete any current assignments, and prepare for any assessments. My teaching styles vary based on the student's needs, but are always very intentional.
I will always try to assist my students in improving their study and preparation skills outside of our lessons so they can be more successful independently as well outside of our tutoring session.
