About Laura
My journey in education began at The University of Manchester, where I earned a BSocSi in Politics and International Relations. Also equipped with a Level 3 certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from The TEFL Academy, I honed my teaching skills through hands-on experience and rigorous training.
My tutoring journey continued as I served as a Dissertation Tutor, assisting final year undergraduate students in refining their projects. Through personalised lesson plans and targeted guidance, I empowered students to enhance their critical thinking and analytical skills within an academic context.
My dedication to making a difference through education took me to be a Children's and Adult's English Tutor, providing English instruction to migrants in a community setting. Whether teaching speaking, listening, reading, or writing, I tailored activities to accommodate diverse learning needs and fostered a supportive learning environment both in-person and online. I can tailor your lessons to your levels and goals, including business, academic and tourism English language learning.
Back in Manchester, my passion teaching led me to found and manage a community an English language school migrants to the UK. As the English Teaching Program Coordinator, I developed a comprehensive curriculum, recruited volunteer teachers, and facilitated engaging classes to empower adult learners on their language journey.
