About Peter
I have been teaching private music lessons for over 20 years and taught over 65,000 private lessons. I am the founder and Director of the very successful Napa School of Music in Napa CA, which I owned and ran from 2005 to 2017.
I use a song based teaching system for guitar, bass, and ukulele so that my students are learning songs they love while they get the academic benefits of music.
I also provide a clear lesson plan complete with goals, achievement levels, and performances.
All my students feel like rock stars because I make sure each lesson is both fun and enriching. My students range from 7 to adults.
I have studied music, with a focus on songwriting, through Berklee College of Music.
I started at a music store in Melbourne Australia.
I have 30 years of private teaching experience. I was the founder and Director of the Napa School of Music. I have taught over 65,000 private music lessons, coached over 40 student rock bands and co-ordinated and produced over 70 student rock band concerts.

I have an introductory phone conversation to see whether the student and teacher are a good fit. Then I schedule an introductory lesson and registration process with the parent.
I have worked with students as young as 5 all the way to adults.
I tell all my students that learning a musical instrument is a lifelong journey, not a destination. So be prepared for taking it a little at a time and know that you will progress if you put even 10 minutes a day, but do it every day.
I'm always excited to see the light go off as a student learn new-to-them music. I recently had 2 brothers start lessons - 8 and 10 years old. I was showing them some one-chord songs. Chain Of Fools was one. As soon as they started strumming along, you could see them connecting. Just priceless.

Details
My pricing is based on what lesson package is chosen. I have options for 30, 50 and 90-minute lessons with a choice of 12, 24 or 36-weeks. Tuition is $56 and upwards.
