About Violette

I focus on creating a positive, supportive, experimental, experiential environment that encourages and invites failure as part of the process, with an emphasis on discovering playfulness and enjoying the process.

I love exploring with someone. I enjoy seeing their creativity. The moment they let go and reach the lightbulb moment, where they move outside of their comfort zone is so exciting and exhilerating to observe. It's an honor to be present and part of that journey.

I began teaching after I completed my bachelor's degree. I worked as a stage manager, designer, director, actor, choreographer, and as stage crew for several years before I decided I wanted to improve my teaching abilities.

I have a Masters in Actor Training and Coaching (the pedogogy of training actors in the university classroom and coaching them one-one and on set) from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London.

I have a Bachelors in Theatre from CSU, Fullerton and have been acting since I was a child.

I've directed, choreographed, designed, and acted in numerous productions over the years.

I teach voice, movement, acting techniques, and provide coaching for auditions and public speakers. I'm a certified Alba Method teacher, a somatic approach to accessing and controlling emotions for performers based controllable aspects of breath, posture and facial expression. Clients have been accepted into renowned programs such as NYU and Columbia as well as been cast in National Commercials.

About the lesson

I begin with a free 15 minute skype, phone or in person meeting. This is so we can get a sense of each other and so I can really begin to understand you, and what your goals and needs are. This initial meeting allows me to tailor your lessons to you. The first lesson is a preview, where we'll try a few thing that cover a range of your goals, so you get a taste of my style and wether it's right for you. From there, if we feel we work well together, we'll determing a plan of action.

I've worked with a range of ages from 5 years old upwards, but I focus my practice on working with those 16 years and older that are dedicated and serious about exploring the work. I've worked with beginners through experienced individuals who have been acting professionally for some time.

Know what your goals are.

Be prepared to work, because acting is a lot of hard work and preparation and research, but allow yourself to have fun.

Standard price for a 60 minute private session is $90 (this covers the rental fee for a location that is central to the client and myself).

I am willing to travel to the client, but additional fees may apply.
