About Alexi

This is a refined system for actors and people seeking to become better at communicating. For people seeking to garner confidence and basic tecnhiques this is an ideal system. It is also ideal for advanced training using Drama Centre, & Mikhail Chekhov techniques.

The sessions can be intense and laser focused toward becoming an actor that is capable of metamorphosis, or it can be used to improve confidence and get an intro into technical acting & communicating.

During my Junior year as a BA at YSU I was offered a last minute directing job at a local high school, as the drama teacher left the school abruptly. It fit well, and the next year, as a senior at YSU, I was offered the position of Head of Drama at Springfield Local High.

Since then I have always taught acting. I taught in London, Greece, Cyprus, and the US. In Russia the only way an actor can teach, or a director, or a singing coach...unless they are active in the professional world. I feel it is important that working artists teach and give back the knowledge to as many others as possible. This is the only way for art to truly evolve. Now that I am a working actor in LA I want to teach more than ever, and help save others time and mistakes they can otherwise avoid.

About the lesson

Each private session is tailored to the individual. So first we have a general assessment of the actor and the desired results. Then I tailor a training schedule based around each actors' needs and we move forward.

The constant aspects of the training will be that movement and voice serve as the base of each session. Movement Psychology is the method being used and so first we will refine kinesics and master the use of our voices.

I have workied with many different students aging in age from 3 years old - 70+ years old. I have also worked with actors in different countries, using different agendas & techniques, and in several languages including English, Greek, & Russian.

I have also worked with physically, and mentally disabled students looking to expand their abilites.

Go with your gut. Question everything they teach. Anyone that tells you not to question them, or doesn't have answers is likely not ideal in training artists/actors.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe that if you want to teach acting you have to have experience as an actor. Even a failed actor will make a better teacher than a theorist/critic. This is an emotional professional, and it is very very hard. Pick a teacher that understands what it FEELS like to live the life of an actor.
