About Claudia

UPDATED INFO: DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS, I AM CURRENTLY COACHING BUT ONLINE ONLY, VIA FACETIME, WHATSAPP AND FB VIDEO. I WILL REDUCE MY RATES AT THIS TIME AS WELL. THANK YOU. CLAUDIA BLOOM

I'm a former TV actress and film and theater casting director. I've been in the business in some way for decades. You can read all about my work on my site: claudiabloom.com and on FB: Claudia Bloom Coching

Coaching sessions generally last an hour, and are held at various New York City studios; remote sessions are also offered. My clients (adults as well as children and teens) send me a scene or monologue they would like to work on, or they ask me to bring in cold scenes and/or new monologues. We work through the piece - discussing its significance and meaning, the character's needs and intentions, and issues pertaining to the other characters. I give the actor a number of ways to approach the text and we schedule as many sessions as are necessary.

Eventually, we find the best fit when we both feel confident that the piece works and will result in a successful audition. I help the actor get to the place where, as a casting director, I would sit up and take notice, and book them in the job.

Undergraduate degree in theater and years studying acting, voice and dance starting as a teen. Private singing lessons in NYC, NYC acting classes, LA improv classes as well. I've taught cold reading workshops as well off and over the years in various schools.

About the lesson

I start with them at their level - a beginner, or very advanced or some where in between. I allow the actor to provide what they know, how they work and I then coach them from there. We work on cold scenes, monologues and commercial text as well.

Perfect! She takes the time to learn about you and why you are interested in acting lessons. She also listens to your ideas, for instance what type of material you want to work on. Her suggestions are concrete and make a big difference in how you perform a piece.
