About Ariana

My service stands out because I am dedicated to my students and their goals. I can create very specific teaching plans to ensure all goals of the student or (parent of the student) are met! I work closely to improve confidence in those new to the craft and take as much time with someone using acting for other life skills, as I do with my seasoned actors. I have a BFA in acting from a top conservatory( California Institute of the Arts), there I was trained in all styles of acting, as well as vocal and body work. I am trained in IPA so I excel in teaching accents and dialects to all ages!

What don’t I enjoy? I would not be me without having acting in my life. It gave me so much in life and as a person besides just preparing me for a role. I love the confidence it can give a person. The way it can help us communicate, and the history behind it all. I love teaching about all aspects of theatre and seeing my students find successes in getting cast in roles, being accepted into colleges and seeing that passion for acting take off.

I came from a professional acting background and have been acting on stage since I was 6. I have always adored teaching acting to others. I feel it can help with so much beyond stage work. I was hired at a private elementary school to teach conflict resolution through acting, and started writing and putting up shows with all the grade levels. This got me into doing private lessons and wanting to work with more students privately.

I have my BFA from California Institute of the Arts in Acting. I have studied with professional actors,directors and writers ( such as tony winner Stew Stuart , Susan Lori- Parks, Disney producer and writer Roger S.H.Schulman, Joan Macintosh and more) HB Studios, Multiple Off Broadway shows. I am IPA trained and excel at teaching accents and regional dialects. I am versed in many acting techniques including but not limited to, Hagen,Chekhov and method. I use ideas from linklater to work on voice and body techniques.

About the lesson

Acting is a very personal profession. You need to feel comfortable with your coach to really dive deep into characters, monologue and dialog work. I work in a stress free way to help bring out the best in my students. Having learned from many professionals, I have taken different approaches and combined them to create a fun but productive work space. I work a lot with children, and being a mom of two young kids myself helps me really know how to focus and motivate a young actor all while keeping it fun. Did you know the human brain can only take in 15 minutes of direct information at once before dazing off? Because if this, I give plenty of short breaks for information to process! I am fun, relaxed and a happy person who truly loved teaching acting!

I mostly work with 4-18 year olds. I work with all levels, for fun through professional ( stage and film) . I love working with adults as well. I am open and excited to work with all skill levels from novice to professional!

I would say, make sure you feel comfortable. Acting is a vulnerable profession, make sure you can communicate with your teacher. If you are a parent, make sure your child leaves smiling and excited for the next lesson. Make sure you leave each lesson feel confident and that you have something to work on!

I recently got to see my best friend play her dream role ( we played sisters in a Streetcar Named Desire) getting to see her perform a role in a show so dear to my heart, confirmed how much I cannot live without acting and performing in my life. It was a wonderful moving experience!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goals? Is this for a specific show/audition , college audition? Do you work with film and stage? Do you have a good amount of material to work with? What genre dies that teacher work mostly in? Drama? Comedy? Modern? Classical? Are they trained to speech or dialects ( I am IPA trainer!!) . Ask the teacher their teaching style and know how you respond best when taught!

I charge $60.00 an hour. (30 minute lessons are $40). I have a referral program which supplies discounts! I give discounts for multiple lessons bought Up front. First lesson is 20 minutes and FREE! I do this to be sure we are a good fit and we can work well together!
