About Emma

I am a Physical Therapy graduate student, so I have taken many science and math classes and absolutely love those topics. I was also a TA for chemistry in undergrad, so I have experience with teaching and tutoring. I graduated with a 3.92 GPA, which is not to brag, but simply to show that I was very successful in my science and math courses and would be able to confidently help you :)

I have always loved science and math, as well as tutoring. I love explaining things in different ways to help a student understand the topic/concept. These classes can be super hard and I know that from experince, so I truly love to help others succeed and reach their academic goals.

As I've stated, I tutored a lot in my high school and college years, so after I graduated and continued into my graduate education, I decided I wanted to continue tutoring on the side.

I worked as a chemistry teaching assistant in college as well as a student athlete tutor in math and science subjects. I have also tutored younger aged children from elementary school to high school.

About the lesson

I like to initially talk to the student about their academic goals and career goals, if applicable. Then, I go through the class requirements and may help the student organize all of the assingment due dates/exam dates, if necessary. I will discuss what learning style they like best, if they are aware of it and discuss how often they think they could benefit from tutoring. I like to really get to know the studnet as an individual so that I can more successfully help him/her.

Make sure you actually get along with your tutor! You want to feel comfortable and lifted up by them. Be picky!:) It's just like finding a therapist, you have to find the best fit!
