About Sharon
My dream job is doing whatever supports people in one-on-one or small group settings! I am here to problem-solve and support so that you can fulfill your dreams and experience success. I am personable, goal-oriented, and creative with resources and activities.
I have 4 years of tutoring experience over a wide array of subjects and levels, but primarily ASL, ESL, phonics, speech & language, and elementary math. I am WA certified as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant; I also hold a BA in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education with a minor in American Sign Language.
My goal as your study buddy is to help you apply information in practical, relevant settings, resulting in long-term retention and understanding. I enjoy using my expertise and experience to help others find that learning, studying, memorizing, and retaining are completely doable tasks. Let's be a team!

In initial tutoring sessions, my goal is to get to know a student and evaluate where they are at. I ask a lot of questions to determine student interests and subject experience. I also offer activities with varied levels and approaches to establish the best place to focus tutoring support.
