I took ASL with Tai for about 5 years and my mother and I encouraged her to continue teaching at homelink a homeschool group where her other student at the time Katie Falmer attended with me. Toghther the fpur of us continued to help Tai continue teaching around 40 students the first year she came to homelink if i remember correctly. My personal experience with Tai was extremely helpful so that I may transition into ASL easier for when or if I lose the rest of my hearing. She was and is a wonderful teacher and I always brag about her to deaf customers i have at my work. If I were to recommend a teacher to anyone interested in learning to be an interpreter such as Katie did I'd tell them Tai was a good option. Anyone with a hearing loss wanting to learn ASL I would tell them Tai was the only person that helped me learn as much as I did. The part I liked the mpst about her class was how interactive and in depth she would go with the students with the class assignments and homework ahe provided it was a much different experience than an average classroom. She practically taught us as if we were deaf ourselves which forced us to learn faster and in my experience I enjoyed.

It was a good experience learning from a Deaf teacher. It was challenging at times, but it's good to experience this if you're wanting to work with Deaf people.

Very knowledgeable and fun. I'm able to communicate effectively in ASL after taking classes with Tai. I feel that the knowledge I gained through these classes has helped me in my community to better understand Deaf culture and ASL.

She is very patient and really wants you to learn.

She is a very humorous and engaging teacher. She was always super helpful when I asked questions and patient when I struggled to sign a sentence. A wonderful teacher!
