About Ella

Hi, I’m Ella! I’m a senior math major with a physics minor and a 3.96 GPA, and I have experience tutoring students across many different levels. For the past two years, I’ve specifically worked with college-level math courses, helping students understand challenging material and improve their performance.

I take my work seriously and always come prepared, organized, and ready to support each student. I understand that math can feel overwhelming, so I focus on creating a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I am reliable, patient, and committed to helping students build both their skills and their confidence in math.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Ella, a math major with a physics minor, and I really love helping students feel more comfortable and confident in math.
My approach is pretty simple. I meet students where they are and explain things in a way that actually makes sense to them. If something doesn’t click the first time, I’ll try a different way until it does. I don’t rush through material, and I make sure students understand why something works instead of just memorizing steps. I also like to relate math to real situations when I can so it feels less abstract.
A typical lesson usually starts with whatever the student is currently working on, like homework or a topic they’re struggling with. Then we go over the concept together in a clear and simple way, and I walk them through a few examples. After that, they try problems on their own while I guide them and step in when needed. I always make sure there’s time for questions and that they feel good about the material before we move on.
What makes me different is that I really focus on making students feel comfortable. A lot of people come into math already feeling stressed or behind, and I try to take that pressure off. It’s okay to make mistakes, and I’m there to help them work through it without feeling judged. I want students to leave sessions feeling like they actually can do math.
I work with students in elementary math, middle school math, geometry, trigonometry, and college algebra. Whether someone needs extra help, is trying to improve their grades, or just wants to understand things better, I adjust each lesson to fit what they need.
