About Tim

I have been coaching archery for 8 years, been shooting for 25+ years. I started my coaching career by developing the NASP program at St. James School in Elizabethtown. My credentials include USA Archery Level 4 NTS coach, USA Archery Level 2 coach trainer, NASP BAI, S3DA Advanced coach trainer. I have trained multiple podium finishers, and several college athletes. My coaching philosophy is centered around the goals of the athlete and what is best for them. I help them take things a step at a time to get to where they want to go, whether it be in the woods to hunt, or to the top levels of competetion. About the lesson

I first ask about their experience with archery. Then we talk about their goals with archery and move on from there

I have worked with Students from 8 years old to adult. Several of the high school aged students that I have worked with have received college scholarships

My recommendations is first make sure that they have a USA Archery certification of level 3 or higher. These coaches are held to the highest of standards, as well as are insured, and have background checks.

Next look at their experience coaching and ask about how many students of theirs have been on the podium at events.

Also make sure that they have a cooperative style of coaching, which means they are willing to listen to their athletes, and allow them to take part in the decision making process. While sometimes it is necessary in the beginning for the coach to demand teaching specific fundamentals, there never should be a drill seargent style of coaching, or a passive style. There must be a solid trusting relationship between the coach and athlete.
