About Gene
Providing quality fundamental training in football and basketball. With an extensive background in athletics at the youth, high school, and collegiate level you can be sure you are getting quality training in areas that are in demand.
I enjoy the process of helping young men and women become well-rounded at their craft. So much emphasis is put on specialization and one of the keys to longevity in as athletics is making yourself indispensable. The more you can do, the harder it is to get you off the field or court.
I knew I wanted to teach long before I left high school. I was always the one helping others at practices and always the most vocal during games. It came natural to me and I continued to hone that skill while playing in college.
I am a teacher. I have a master degree in education: classroom management and differentiation. This has allowed me to take the over 30 years involved in athletics and devise training plans that work for each unique individual.

I have worked with high-level division one talents and I have worked with students with learning and physical disabilities.
It all comes down to what you want out of your experience.
Know what you want to accomplish. Begin with the end in mind and above all be realistic. I can't teach physical traits but I can improve anyone's skill.
I had a young female athlete who did not feel confident going into a county championship track meet because she believed that she was not at the competition's level. I told her to forget everyone else and just run to beat herself and she not only made the finals as a freshmen but finished 6th while setting new Personal Records each time. Her excitement at her accomplishment made me feel awesome for her. She now knows that through hard work and focusing within, she can see great results.
