About David
I have a passion for anything science. I love teaching and helping students learn about science and the world around us. I have 20 years of experience in biomedical reseach and I have 1 year of experience teaching after school biology with Bionerds Inc.
I was very lucky in my youth to have amazing science teachers that made the subject matter both easliy understandable and enjoyable. I try my best to do the same and I absolutely love when a student discovers they have a similar passion for science.
I started voluteering at Oak Creek Elementary school in Irvine, CA. I enjoyed it so much I applied for a position with as an Educator for Bionerds Inc. I have been teaching for Bionerds for the last year and I love it.
I have a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in molecular biology from the Univerisity of Missouri-Columbia. I have worked in biomedical research for 20 years. I have 1 year of experience teaching afterschool biology with Bionerds Inc.

I like to make a personal connection with both the student and the parents and I stress the importance of understanding the scientific method and how it pertains to the subject at hand.
I typically work with kids between the ages of 5-14
The first thing I learned about teaching kids, especially younger kids, is that no matter how extensive your knowledge of biology is, the most important factor is your abliity to relay that knowledge to the kids in a manner that they can understand and enjoy.
