About Lindsey

I am a current University of New Hampshire student working towards my bachelor's of science in Neuroscience and Behavior. I have managed a multitude of classes, a heavy course load, and maximized my skills over the past decade from honors classes to AP, college, and beyond. I am experienced in a wide range of sciences and I have worked hard to get an excellent GPA in the last three years and throughout high school. I also have a wide variety of other experiences, extracurriculars, and jobs that gives me a unique background into animal sciences, biology, anatomy, and other related subjects. I have experienced both working with students and peers in different situations where I have explained subjects, concepts, and other aspects of classes whilst studying as a group. In addition, I have worked with kids both in a summer camp classroom on animal handling as well as babysitting younger children and working on reading with them. I am particularly skilled with the sciences and find that I can break them down systematically and make things easier to learn.

About the lesson

I connect with the student about their goals and overall current understanding of the subject. From there I like to set smaller goals to break down the work and the subject matter based on chapters, sections, lectures, etc based on how they are being taught at school. I hope to become a practical and helpful individual that the student can ask any questions they have, so that I may be able to help them achieve their goals.

I would advise students to search for a teacher or tutor who is willing to teach in a style that best fits one's learning style. I am a visual learner myself, so seeing things physically makes the concepts much easier to understand. When connecting and tutoring a student myself, my goal is to help them discover what works best for them, so in the long term, they have the skills it takes to teach themselves or ask for help in a way that makes learning more effective and less challenging.

Details

For a consultation with the student and parent or garudian, I charge $15 per one-hour session to establish a plan, make goals, and a schedule for future sessions. Following this, the rate is $10 per hour session, for 2 sessions a week. Once I establish you as a client and on-going student, then I adjust this as necessary based on our goals as determined with both student and parent/guardian.
