With 40 years of experience i can teach you how to take your cakes from ordinary to extra-ordinary. Classes for individuals and groups, including parties for all occasions, home schoolers, scouting groups, and with an extensive class catalog to choose from. Cake pan rentals, and paper crafting classes also available.

I love seeing people gain confidence as they realize they can do this. So many feel unsure at the start, especially if they received a class as a gift, or came to accompany a friend, but they leave knowing they have a new skill.

After moving from the UK to the US in 1989 I found Wilton classes in the local kitchenware store. Thinking this would be a great way to see how American decorating was different from what I had taught myself so far, I was soon hooked. The instructor noticed my natural talent and recommended me to be an instructor.

In papercrafting a friend and I were intending to teach classes together but she changed her mind, so I forged ahead alone and found it a challenge, but a fun one, and the rest, as they say, is history!

I've been decorating cakes for over 40 years, including 15 years as a Wilton instructor, a year at a local cake shop, and a few years running a catering business where I did all the cakes. I've also taken multiple classes and multi-day training courses. I've taught hundreds of students over the years.
I've been a papercrafter for over 20 years, during which time I have taken several trainings and taught hundreds. My experience covers many fields, from rubber stamping, card making, home decor, scrapbooking, kids crafts, junk journalling and more.

About the lesson

I love new students and invite them to check out my class catalog and calendar on my website. Pick the date that works for you, then choose your class, then email me to finalize arrangements.

I've worked with students of all ages and experience levels in both my fields.
In cake decorating I have taught ages 6 to 70's and those with no experience who just came to keep a friend company, to those working in a bakery, those in culinary school, and one who has since competed on a professional level and now owns a food truck. I have multiple years of experience working with homeschoolers and Scout Troops.
In papercrafting I have again worked with all ages from pre-K and up, and no experience to many years of experience.

I have the years of experience in many aspects of these fields, and can work with you to do my best to meet your needs.

I love running birthday parties. Recently I ran a beginner's cake class for the 40th birthday of a friend, and three of her friends. A great time was had by all, everyone learned a lot, and took home a finished cake. This is a unique way to celebrate for all ages.

Details

$20 covers a basic 2 1/2 hour class where the student brings the supplies. For $30 the student can use my tools and equipment and bring just the baked goods and frosting. More advanced classes and multi-session course will vary from this pricing structure.
