About Chloe

I am a cellist, educator and chamber musician based in San Francisco, CA. Passionate about education, I am an active teacher in the Bay Area and am currently building my private studio. As a dedicated orchestral musician, I am currently a section cellist for the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra. I am a founding member of Duo Érable, a cello and guitar duo. Duo Érable has a mission of expanding the limits of traditional classical repertoire and reaching communities large and small in the Bay Area. More about me : Born in France, her musical career started at the Lyon conservatory with Augustin Lefebvre. Chloé holds a B.M. and an M.M. from the McGill Schulich School of Music in Montreal where she graduated with an “Outstanding Achievement in Cello” under the mentorship of Matt Haimovitz and Brian Manker. During her time at McGill, she was a finalist in the McGill Concerto Competition, principal cellist of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and the recipient of the Mcgill Lloyd Carr-Harris scholarship. Chloé is also the recipient of grants and awards from l’Association Française du Violoncelle, Lions Club International, the Concours du Royaume and a beneficiary of a cello loaned by the organization Talents & Violoncelles and made by luthier Patrick Robin. As a collaborative musician, Chloé had the opportunity to perform with, and be mentored by renowned musicians such as Ralph Kirshbaum, Tessa Lark, Ronald Leonard and Philippe Muller. Chloé is currently pursuing an Artist Certificate in Chamber Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as one of the three Osher Foundation Scholars. Chloe plays on a Frank Ravatin, generously lent by Roger Dubois of CANIMEX Inc.

I started cello when I was 6 and starting teaching it when I was 16.
