About Nathanael
As a little child, learning new languages became an inexplicable passion that has molded me into the person I’ve become. I’d spend hours watching youtube videos vigorously writing the vocabulary many beautiful languages the world holds. The complexity of each culture tethered to the language would always leave me craving for a deeper understanding of the culture and language. As I grew, my thirst to understand the cultures of the world increased significantly; hence, me studying the Chinese language and culture for over 3 years. As the tutor, a One-on-one tutoring session will emphasize the importance of Pinyin, Pronunciation, Grammar, Stroke order, and Characters. A personalized tutoring method will be created upon an understanding of the students placement in the elementary Chinese spectrum. Teaching others has become a great passion of mine and I am glad that I am able to do so through Chinese.
My Chinese teacher recognized that my Chinese is more advanced than the classes offered in my school so she asked me to help students throughout class. After that, I'd give private lessons to both students in my university, and students outside of school.
I am a teacher's assistant for Elementary Chinese at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I have tutored several students through this role. I took two years of Chinese in highschool along with seperate lessons with both my highschool and college Chinese teachers.

The first day, a placement test is given to determine where the student's knowledge of Chinese is only if the student already has experience in Chinese. If the student does not have any prior knowledge, I will start by teaching the student Pinyin, then basic communication, stroke order, and grammar. The student will receive a personalized syllabus whether they are a beginner or more advanced in Elementary Chinese.
