As a member of the prestigious President's Own Marine Band and principal clarinet player of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra and with over a decade of teaching experience at respected institutions like the Los Angeles Philharmonic - Youth Orchestra Los Angeles and Colburn School of Music, I offer a unique blend of expertise and dedication. My students consistently excel in competitions both nationally and internationally, showcasing the effectiveness of my teaching methods. My musical journeys lead me to travel around the world performing with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Cleveland Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, among others.

I was fortunate to have outstanding music teachers who deeply influenced my life, as well as the lives of my friends and communities. Witnessing the profound impact of music education, I knew from an early age that I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Both as a student and a teacher, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of music. It's not just about individual growth but also about enriching the communities we serve. This realization fueled my passion for teaching, and I've been committed to empowering students through music ever since.

I have had the privilege of studying and collaborating with world-renowned teachers and musicians, which has been invaluable in shaping my approach to teaching. Drawing from this wealth of experience, I have developed teaching techniques that have proven to be highly effective. My goal is to impart a wide range of skills to my students in a manner that is both easy to understand and supportive. I am dedicated to fostering creativity, enhancing musicianship, and refining performance techniques in my students, ultimately empowering them to reach their full potential.

I have extensive experience working with students of all ages and from diverse social backgrounds. Currently, my youngest student is 7 years old, while the oldest is 75.

I have been working with Mr. Coelho for a long time now, working on solo pieces, excerpts, etudes, and clarinet exercises. He is an excellent teacher and a great person! He always has very helpful advice on clarinet playing, and he continuously inspires me to be a better musician. I truly think I have grown as a clarinetist under his guidance, in all aspects of technicality, tone, musicianship, and more.
