My passion for tutoring comes from my understanding of the importance of education in society. In order for a person to be successful in life, they must be educated in a variety of topics. I enjoy working with students, because seeing them succeed allows me to make a difference in students lives. That's why through all my education related work experience, I made sure to tailor my teaching to the needs of all students in my classrooms.

I started working in education during the Summer of 2018 as a Camp Counselor as an employee for United Activities Unlimited. There I created a fun and safe learning experience at the PS55 Summer Camp by helping the students increase their reading, math, science, art, and internet skills, while also coming up with fun games to play! Then during the Summer of 2021, I worked for the same company. Except this time, I was a School Runner at IS7. There, I gathered supplies for the teachers, helped teachers facilitate activities, and made sure that no one is running through the hallways. I also resolved conflicts and negotiated beneficial agreements between students. Soon after, I began working for YMCA at PS46. There, I lead 2nd and 3rd graders through group activities such as arts and crafts, educational games, board games, and sports. Each month there was a new theme, and I delivered many creative lessons around those themes! These activities built their teamwork and social-emotional skills. I also guided them through their homework in a way that they're able to answer their homework questions by themselves. I also resolved conflicts and negotiated mutually beneficial agreements bwtween students! Then my most recent job is being a Code Coach at CodeWiz. There I teach students the fundemntals of subjects such as Python, game development (SCRATCH, Roblox Studio, Unity, etc). I use project focused teaching to help the student(s) leann the subjects through doing; rather than just memorizing concepts.

My typical process for working with new students are making sure I understand their learning styles and goals that brought them to my tutoring service. This applies weather they student is a child or adult, but the process is slightly different. Then, I lay out a lesson structure for the next session and the sessions for the upcoming weeks. Understanding students learning style and needs is important for developing a lesson structure that works for them.

I have worked with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th graders.
