About Sophia Lin

I am a home chef, mostly self taught and focus my classes also on how to use leftover ingredients after class and proper freezing and storage post class to maximize those meals! If I can do you, so can you!

I especially love the interaction with people. Every experience is unique and different and allows for a story to be told on why someone wants to learn or grow. I don't claim to be perfect or even an expert, just simply a leader in the field of cooking with a zero-waste mindset, aiming to learn, educate and grow daily so that I can acheive that true Zero-waste status.

I started during the pandemic when the special events industry has been on pause and decided to take my love for food and teaching to a virtual and education direction.

I have a BS from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration that included culinary based training and courses. I worked for a full-service off-premise catering and event design firm for 10 years and have been honing my kitchen skills independently for the past 5 years. I have competed in several local culinary competitions featuring my homemade dumplings and tied for 1st place with my southern style spicy mac and cheese.

About the lesson

Taking the time to learn about their goals and their concerns so that we can tailor the classes to fit their needs best. It's an interactive process and a journey that I can adjust based upon their skill level and ultimate goals.

I work with students of all levels! Some have lots of eperience cooking and some are very new, I guide them all through the process so it feels appropriately timed, to skill level and comfort. Many people are just regular people like you who just wanted to expand their skill sets and learn about new cuisines.

I think it's important to be clear on your goals and level of experience you bring to the table. The more speciifc you are about your interests and desire for growth, the more that the classes can be tailored to your needs.

this is my fourth time eating their food, and i went with a friend who is NOT vegan. she LOVED her dish, and even liked what she tasted from some of mine. the food was hot, fast and delicious, they have not failed me on a dish yet, from apps to soup to entree, it all tastes so good! the host was patient, informative, courteous, efficient and thoughtful, and we just ordered take out! DEFINITELY my new favorite vegan place 😄

A great Vegan restaurant run by a nice Vietnamese family. Sweet and sour sensation is delicious. The hot and sour soup can be a bit spicy but delicious if you can stand the heat.

Best vegan Asian food I have ever had! If you’re vegan or follow a plant based diet- you must try this place!! I ordered on Grubhub and it came fast and so hot! I got the sweet and sour sensation & Vietnamese wonton soup! My boyfriend who isn’t plant based loved it because it tasted exactly like sesame chicken! I will definitely be coming back.

Best vegan Asian food I have ever had! If you’re vegan or follow a plant based diet- you must try this place!! I ordered on Grubhub and it came fast and so hot! I got the sweet and sour sensation & Vietnamese wonton soup! My boyfriend who isn’t plant based loved it because it tasted exactly like sesame chicken! I will definitely be coming back.

We LOVE Grasshopper! I highly recommend #69 but getting kale on the bottom instead of lettuce. The hot and sour soup is also delicious. It is actually kinda spicy! The staff is always super nice. I can't wait until we can actually go eat in the restaurant again.
