About Gena

I teach functional cooking and baking. Science based not only the how but the why!! I use math as a method to standardize recipes for those who want to take their cooking and baking to another level. I specialize in artisan bread using wild yeast starter to produce beautiful old world style bread.

I also love to teach the home cooking enthusiast! Families who cook and eat together stay together! You name it we can cook it.

My family is Italian so cooking and eating together has been very important.

I have been a teacher/ consultant for many years, I love seeing my customers realize their vision and business goals.

I started teaching after culinary school. I got a job at the school that I graduated from and eventually started teaching. I love to share my knowledge and help others realize their dreams.

I have a degree in culinary arts and a BA in Culinary Management.

About the lesson

My process consists reviewing the subject matter, showing teaching the technique then helping the student make it themselves.

I have worked with all types of students. Those who have some experience and those with no experience.

I have been taking lessons from Gena for a couple of years now. I am in to fitness so we have made many traditional foods but then turned them into healthier versions. She has also taught me how to bake some of my favorite breads, like brioche, donuts and cinnamon rolls. She has been teaching professionally for over 14 years, and is a wealth of knowledge.
