I had a lesson with Miriam while I was in NYC for a vacation. I had been taking an intensive Lindy Hop course in Vienna during that time, and was quite worried as I had missed two weeks of lessons. Fortunately, Miriam did such a wonderful job of getting me up to speed with some of the basic moves that when I went back my friends were surprised that I had caught up so well - they said that one could hardly tell that I was away for two weeks! Miriam is very clear and thorough in her instructions, and makes the best of the time.

Miriam's gift is a profound ability to view the scene from the perspective of the actor. I almost feel as if she's inside the character WITH me, living the moment from inside. The rigor and imaginative fervor which she applies to text is unparalleled, and her ability to find simplicity and clarity in complex forms, such as Shakespeare and Euripides, is a true gift. Working with Miriam has been an incredibly freeing and transforming experience.
