About Iryna

The concept of Be in Tango is to help people experience connection with others and the world. The emphasis is on understanding and empathy, as tango is a partner dance. At Be In Tango we recognize that giving is not only about the receiver, but about bringing joy to the giver, as well. Connection and exchange of energy through dance makes both partners happy. The School focuses on the side of tango which opens non-verbal communication skills, aiming to grow those skills so that dancers can grow and partners can sync together. We see each human being as a beautiful creation and interaction with each as a source for inspiration and learning. The School is one year old and is a dynamic and growing organism, evolving with each student and the ideas they bring. All are welcome and celebrated at Be In Tango.

I believe we build our own luck by setting our fears aside. The biggest step was to start, it took me about 18 months before I took that step, but since then things have naturally evolved and progressed quickly.

IRYNA’S INTEREST AND LOVE FOR DANCING BEGAN WHEN SHE WAS FOUR YEARS OLD. SHE DISCOVERED THE BEAUTY OF TANGO IN 2008 AND STARTED TO LEARN IT WHEN SHE MOVED TO HOUSTON FROM UKRAINE IN 2012. SHE HAS NOT STOPPED DANCING SINCE. SHE SEES TANGO AS A CHANNEL FOR MUTUAL INSPIRATION, NATURAL NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION, AND ART CREATION IN THE MOMENT. SHE WORKED ON HER FOLLOWER TECHNIQUE TO EXPAND THE DANCING VOCABULARY AND GAIN CONFIDENCE. AFTER DANCING BALLROOM AND FOLK DANCES FROM VERY EARLY AGE AND COMPETING MANY YEARS, SHE HAS DEVELOPED MORE INTEREST IN LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT CULTURES THOUGH THEIR DANCE. IRYNA PARTICIPATED IN MANY WORK SHOPS, PRIVATE LESSONS, FESTIVALS, PERFORMANCES ETC. DURING THESE YEARS SHE HAS BEEN DANCING TANGO, SHE ALWAYS DREAMED OF GIVING BACK TO THIS WONDERFUL DANCE BY ONE DAY TEACHING WHAT SHE HAS GATHERED TO LET OTHERS EXPERIENCE THE PROFOUND FEELING THAT COMES FROM A TANGO CONNECTION

About the lesson

An important thing to understand when you step in to a Be In Tango class: Each person in the room is there to challenge themself. We all are out of our comfort zones and we all share common respect for each other because of that, and encourage each other on to the next step. Each of us is on a personal journey, moving at different speeds, on varying paths, and at different stages of development. Each person and journey is beautiful. We encourage and teach dancers to listen to themselves and to each other. We appreciate the effort it takes to embark on this tango journey with us and we are grateful to each student who trusts us to guide them. We are open to questions, doubts, concerns, and gladly share experiences. We appreciate individual thinking and we look forward to seeing each unique, creative, and beautiful individual connect, contribute, and compose with us. We engage in different levels of communication about tango and our tango journeys: through dance, classes, discussion, lectures, workshops, and practicas. Come Be In Tango with us.

We worked with broad variety of students, as we welcome all to join us. Our studants came to us with different amount of knowladge about tango, from no expiriance at all to the level where people teach tango themselves.
