About Sasha

Westminster Dance Company offers a variety of classes that supports all ages and levels. Founder and owner Sasha Samodouroff loves bringing diversity into her studio and places value on positive thinking to move toward achieving goals of all students. She has competed for 15 years and hasn’t experience with studio dance styles along with school dance team where she gained her experience on Los Alamitos High School song team and CSUF dance team (16 time national championship title) she is also involved in the community as a Westminster Princess! Come out to join the WDC family.

I love seeing the progress my students make and sharing the same passion and love for dance. When you are in a room full of people who share the same appreciation for something that you do it truly is an irreplaceable feeling.

I first began teaching as a coach at marina high school when a friend of mine from Los Alamitos song got hired as head coach she hired me on as her assistan. I learned so much from that job and ended up staying there for 5 years while taking on studio jobs simultaneously.

I have a bachelors degree in child and adolescent development. And have been teaching for over 7 years. I am currently a preschool teacher along with a dance teacher/owner and absolutely love working with kids of all ages I have also coached a high school dance team.

About the lesson

It can sometimes be intimidating and nerve wrecking being a new student. My approach to new students is respecting their space and temperament and not expecting and/or forcing them to engage too quickly. Everyone adjusts to new environments at their own pace. As an instructor I do my absolute best to assess the temperament of the new student and modify my welcoming approach based off of what my student is telling me. That can mean letting them watch a class for the first half or walking them through the class step by step.

I’ve worked with ages 3-18 from studio petite classes to dance teams and private lessons. I have done it all.

I would advise the student looking for a teacher to consider their past experience, their reviews as an instructor, and the instructors attitude and outlook on teaching.

a recent event that I am particularly find of is winning the 16 time national championship title with my CSUF dance team in 2017. It is a feeling I will never forget and really worked incredibly hard for.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think through their own experience level, what goals are achievable and realistic vs. the ones that will take more time, the time spent in the studio working on meeting those needs, class size (if that teacher is taking on a lot of students at once private lessons may be the better option to get valuable feedback and attention).
