About Elaine

I have been a professional artist since 1985, began teaching in 1991 and continue to offers fine art classes and workshops. Through my teaching experiences, my students led me to focus on developing an easy to understand book titled "Harmonious Color Schemes; a no-nonsense approach using the Color Wheel", for use by working artists, teachers and the novice painter.

I am a national award winning artist, an active exhibitor in juried art shows and have a number of images licensed for commercial use. My work can be found in collections internationally and also exhibits in several galleries. I pride myself as an active advocate of the fine arts in my community and I serve our Armed Service Veterans by offering art instruction at the Manchester VAC.

Love helping students achieve their AHA moments.

Fine art for me has been a lifetime endeavor. Teaching art for over 25 years, I have seen first-hand, what the impact of drawing and painting can do for students, young and old.

I have been studying art for more than 45 years and teaching for well over 25. I am a juried member of Oil Painters of America and the NH Artists Association. I have won awards nationally and have authored and illustrated a book titled "Harmonious Color Schemes, a no-nonsense approach using the Color Wheel".

About the lesson

I evaluate the students' level of knowledge, then work with the individual, tailoring the lesson to achieve the outcome they desire.

In addition to private lessons, I currently conduct an art program for our local Veterans at the VA in Manchester and have also seen the benefits that drawing produces for PTSD patients.

I teach the traditional methods focusing on drawing, composition, painting techniques and color theory. Student may work in any medium or style. The basic methods still apply.
