About Michael

Michael Carioto is based in Beverly Hills Chicago. He has been teaching on the high school level for 5 years. Specialties in Art focus on design, drawing, painting and sculpture of many kinds. Michael Carioto studied at Monmouth College for Theater and Art.

Similarly, Michael is a classically trained vocoalist as well as being trained in broadway and jazz music. Having been performing for a number of venues and productions since 2009, there is a great understanding of the needs of the performer.

Students should expect a warm and inviting atmosphere while being taught as well as a large element of fun! Nothing can be more stifling than education without play/fun. Bring your sketchbooks, bring your voices, bring your pencils and lets get learning!

The thing about education in the arts is that you help directly let someone channel their creativity. These are skills that some people dont learn until much later in life, or very very early. Pablo Picasso once said: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up". A part of being an Art Educator is leaving that child like wonder WITH the teaching instead of removing it all together.

The skills of drawing can be easy to learn. But the passion is what cn be hard to teach. With that skill, the wonder, and the passion I can help make your student the best possible artist they can be!

I got started in the passion of teaching when I first started to share my talents in the arts with students. I found out that it was so cool to see other people learn what I know and watch they grow as individuals.

I worked for five years as an educator in the arts and as an Art teacher.

About the lesson

Students are different. Each student will not learn the same way. Some are audio learners, some tactile, some kinetic, some have to go through every step maticulously first. My job as an educator is to figure out what they student needs and cater to that to best help them come to their full potential.

I have worked with many a variety of students. Honors course students, to students with special needs, to someone so empassioned about the art they create. I do my best to best find how they student needs to learn.
