About Steven

Painting is a craft that has help humanity to tell a story. Painting leads human beings to understand their own nature and the nature of others. Painting is the ultimate salvation of society.

I have been painting for 5 years. My focus is on portrait painting and figurative painting. I usually work from pictures and sometimes from life.

My role models for painting are the Old Masters, such as El Greco, Tintoretto, Michael Angelo, Francisco Goya, Caravaggio, Jose de Ribera, and a contemporary painter Odd Nerdrum.

These painters have formed my education on painting and my understanding of painting.

If a student desires to study the techniques of Old Masters with me, You will learn how to stretch canvases and size a canvas like the Old Masters. You will learn how to make oil paints. You will learn how to use imprimatura. You will learn how to mix colors. You will learn how to draw with oil paint; You will learn the anatomy of the face and the human form. I will train you on how to do a self-portrait and paint a narrative painting. I will instruct you in a historical and philosophical understanding of painting and art.

If you desire to learn how to draw, you will learn the basic of drawing, such as blind contour drawing, line drawing, crosshatching, shading, charcoal drawing, oil pastel drawing, ink drawing, etc

Painting and Drawing is a craft that projects beauty to the world. My goal for you is to learn and understand the complex beauty of drawing and painting so that you will be able to spread beauty and storytelling to the world one day.

With my service, you will learn how to paint, and have general knowledge in painting and theories of art. You will develop a passion for painting and your point of view of painting will change. My painting course will lead you to fall in love the craft and hopefully, you can become a great painter ready to tackle the challenges that the art world provides.
