About Shanna

I went to Herron Art school for more than three years and was aiming to be a teacher when my first pregnancy interfered. I learned so many practical things that I beleive could help students learn and gain confidence in drawing. Anyone can draw!! I focus on positive reinforcement and constructive criticism. I've taught classes to younger students several times at a local small art institute. It's a lot of work to practice art but if you have determination you can definately become able to draw or improve at drawing.

Sharing my enthusiasm for art and when they are finally able to draw something well the sheer joy on their faces makes me happy to.

It's something I always dreamed of doing even from when I was young. When I love something I want to share that love and enthusiasm with someone else. I feel so proud when a student gains confidence and quits thinking negatively.

About the lesson

First I want to find out what they want to draw and their skill level before giving lesson plans to help each student in what they want to improve on.

I mostly taught elementary and middle school age.

I think attitude is most important you do not want to hire someone who will push their style or stereotypes on you. You want a teacher who is firm, patient, positive, knowledgable, and passionate.

I recently tried to help my daughter draw something and she was pretty happy when it finally looked more like she hoped.

Is there a style or subject you are really interested in and you want to be able to draw it well enough people can recognise it.

I hope to work with the students to find a fair price but for now I feel $25 per 1 hour lesson seems fair.
