About Cherie
I am a professional fine artist with 25 years of experience. It is my mission in teaching and mentoring to meet you where you are and help you grow to meet your creative goals.
I love everything about the creative proces. Watching a student evolve and sharing in their discovery process is a gift that enhances my own development and growth as an artist.
I was asked to be a substitute teacher to cover a few art classes (c.1995), I enjoyed it and stuck with it!
I hold a BFA in Painting from Mass College if Art and an MFA in Visual Design from Umass Dartmouth. My teaching experience ranges from toddler through adult, beginners through professional level artists. In addition to teaching, I have coordinated many large open studio events, organized an artist community, and founded a thriving art gallery.

My preference is to start with a phone call to talk about the students experience and goals. If we determine that we are a good match, set up meeting times, send supply list and outline classes. My approach is to taylor class/meeting structure to the needs/goals of the student.
I 've worked with student from ages 2-92. Beginners through professional level artists.

Details
My rates rang from $60-$125 per hour for private teaching and artist mentoring, and $30 per hour, per student for groups of 3 or more. Some materials are included, but most often student will be asked to bring their own supplies. Supply lists will be supplied and are class/ student goal specific.
