About Aaron

As an art instructor I want individual creators to find their original and unique voice. I've worked with artist of all ages and skill levels throughout the years . I've worked with at risk, homeless , incarcerated and LGBTQ+ youth throughout the Kansas City area . I've lived in Denver for over a year and hit the ground running as an art instructor for STREETWISE mural festivals after-school program in Boulder. I participated in the Black Love Mural Festival and Crush walls . I'm a member of the Denver Art Society in the Sante Fe Arts District and have shown at the ILA GALLERY . I currently have two shows in RHINO. Art is personal therapeutic and vital. As a working artist I see the delicate balance between expression and maintaining life . All experiences , instructors and environments are different. As a muralist a sculptor I've had to solve problems and take different approaches to projects because no two are alike all are original and require patience car and attention just like growing artist under my instruction I like to meet artist/creators where they are in regards to skill level and interest . I love fantasy , sci fi , anime and all things from the imagination . I have a vast library of art books magazines and items I love to share expose and educate my students with.

I enjoy helping others bring their imagination to life . I like to pull from whats seen and unseen . I love the spiritual and ancestral connection we have with art and other artist . Seeing an individual grow as a professional or just for the sake of expression is awesome. Artist need encouragement and confidence in there creations , ideas and expressions to grow into their own creator and I enjoy doing that .

I helped co found Kansas Citys first Hip Hop Academy . I was the art/graffitti instrutor. It was a youth oriented group focused on Hip Hop education expression and performance . I later mover on to work with other groups creating murals mask and chalk art throughout the city with variuos orgnazations .

About the lesson

Meet the student on a personal level to see what their goals and interest are. Look over old work talk about their favorite artist and introduce them to new artist .

I've worked with ages 5-75

I accomadate all skill levels

I've spent alot of time with at risk , homeless , and incarcerated youth .Victims of physical and sexual abuse in shelters and out reach programs .

I've also worked with well to do church groups in suburban areas . Summer camp programs community center and library murals you name it .

Be open minded and ready for critique

Not a harsh critique but depending on who I'm dealing with I'll let you know what you need to work on.

But you also need to HAVE FUN , BE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!!

WOW !!! Since moving to Denver there have been so many I've lost count and could go on for days .The scene here has been extremely welcoming and I'm working with groups all over the city showing art teaching vending etc etc . COVID put a halt on the teaching but Ive remained active other wise . After being asked to teach ZOOM classes for an upcoming program I figured i might as well do this also because I always receive request and have been missing art instruction .
