I've taken a few painting classes throughout my life, and can say without hesitation that Rod Smith is the best teacher I've ever had. During covid, I wanted to try a few art projects that I've put on the back burner for years, like learning how to paint a portrait. Right out of the gate, Rod taught me about color and the structure of faces, and provided me with a list of supplies and paints to buy. It was straightforward and exactly what I was looking for. Not only is he a great teacher, but he's an excellent resource on the history of art and was able to give me the names of painters and books to check out. I look forward to our next class!
