About Mika

I have been told by my peers and students that my personable, outgoing personality along w/ the obvious excitement I carry for teaching and creating is what they love most about me and what keeps them coming back. Return students and word of mouth is the best compliments.

I love to share my knowledge and excitement for creating with others. I am free to create as my heart desires.

When I wake up in the morning I can't wait to get to my art studio!

Though I am technically a self taught artist I have taken many online and in person classes over the years as well as a lot of researching and just plain learning by doing. I have a very strong skillset and I am very knowledgable about many different art forms and the suplies in which to create them with. I started teaching scrapbooking & paper arts 15 years ago, I taught in local scrapbooking stores as well as private groups & parties. As scrapbooking became less popular I began teaching art journaling/mixed media and that led me into fine art which is where I am today.
I still teach art journaling & mixed media but for the last 6 years I have also taught fine art. If it's out there I want to know all there is to know about it and if possible I also want to try it out.

I have years of learning by doing. I have taken many, many online classes from some of the industries greatest artists as well as in person classes.

About the lesson

1.Communication. 2.Lets paint/draw so I can see where your skill set is and lets go from there. 3.Lets develope a curricullum that best suits you. 4.Lets have an arty party!

I work w/ adults & kids. Home school, handicapped, 4H & festival/fair prep. Group events.

Make sure you have chemistry with your teacher.

Teaching 30 kids & their parents that are in the "swine club" (raising pigs for 4h) how to paint a pig on canvas to enter in the fair.

Details

My standard for adults is $40.00 an hour. If you wish to have a longer lesson I do offer a discount. With adult lessons we often will use "adult" art supplies & I do supply everything. If you've looked at art supplies then you know just how pricey they are. That aside you also get an energetic and knowledgable instructor to share with you all she knows. I leave nothing out.
For kids art lessons with kids art supplies it is $25.00 an hour. Again I provide all supplies.
