About Danil

I am a professional artist ( drawing, painting and digital media.)

Graduated from Pratt Institute with MFA, major Painting and Drawing.

15 years of teaching experience both privately and groups.

Most of the things that traditional painters work with can be easily explained even to the total novice: I give knowledge and teach how to use it.

I like teaching. For me, it's the same creative process as my professional work in the studio. I like to meet new students, to understand their way of learning and to find the appropriate way to explain the material - I like to invent exclusive learning strategies!)

About the lesson

It depends on if I teach online or directly in the studio.

If the student wants to learn online - I will have to understand first, what is she/he looking for, exactly. I will have to ask some specific questions, that will help me to build the program first since the direct interaction with the student will be limited.

If the student is interested in direct in-studio learning, this would require some different approach. Usually, I start the first lesson with an easy assignment, like basic still life of about 2-3 objects. It helps me to understand the student's way of thinking, "to see his hand" and to check his ability to see things.
