About Cody

Have you always been inspired by art? Have you ever been plagued with the "I can't even draw a stick figure" kind of mentality? Did you know ANYONE can CRAFT??

I've cultivated a super awesome workshop for people looking to learn a new drawing technique, find a way to pass some time, or gain confidence within artistic creativity. This is super easy, has no rules at all, and is GREAT FOR KIDS!! We will challenge our imaginations and explore different shapes, colors, and dimensions locked within the universe. Make a rad necklace that tells a story. Trap a little piece of the beach inside a terrarium. Learn about heat embossing and make some rad personalized stationary. Doodle. Scribble. Draw a comic. Make a dream catcher. Draw a freeflowing expression of your consciousness. Throw some paint in a theraputic splatter-thrash style (self-created splatter technique). Metal stamp some jewlery. Make a clay coaster or a little clay desk buddy to hang out with you while you work.

Private classes, parties, meet-ups, doodle-and-sip, girl's night, after school classes, and way more. Any reason is a reason to craft

The most rewarding part about being an artist is watching people believe in their craft and creativity. My favorite memory about becoming one with being an artist was the first time I showed a stranger my work and watching them interpret my art with their own emotions and fall in love with something I had made. I love looking back on the stages of my art journey when I had absolutely no belief in my work and someone somewhere saw vision for me. I didn't know what I was doing or where my art career was headed but people were enjoying what I was putting out there and I was enjoying their enjoyment. Now I have become a well-rounded artist and promote myself at shows and sell art and I am constantly learning new things and creating new things.

I would love more than anything to help write a legacy story for the next great artist of our time. Will that be you?? ;)

I have done kids camp workshop-style classes through past jobs and assisted art classes for 2-6 year olds at a non-profit afterschool program with a focus in art and theater. but am fairly new to freelance teaching and am excited to build my profile.

I have run kids craft camp workshops through other jobs and offer tips and suggestions to people who inquire. I am just now geting into freelance teaching and I am looking to build a bigger profile.

About the lesson

Each class is different! Are you looking for a fun workshop? A craft-and-sip style girls night? Or maybe a series of art lessons to build on a project or artistic style over the course of multiple classes?

Workshops and private parties are 1.5-2 hours depending on the project. There is 30 minutes of settling in and getting to know each other and give some instructions. The remainder of the class is spent crafting! I will be around to answer questions, guide, and support but what I want to do is challenge your imagination and your confidence. I want YOU to have a project in mind and let me help you bring YOUR vision to life.

If you are looking for a reocurring class it is a little different! We will do a little get-to-know-you so I can get a feel for your creativity and artistic style and we will explore art styles I can offer you and build a project or a series of classes together to help you really excel at exploring your craft.

THESE CLASSES ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR YOU TO COPY PROJECTS. They are designed to offer you instructions and materials to build a foundational understanding for you to take your creativity on your own journey of personal creativity and self expression. THIS! IS! ABOUT! YOU!

I have worked mostly with young kids and older teens. I have offered tips and advice to friends and pals of all ages.

Find a teacher for YOU! Your creativity is a reflection of your self-expression. There should never be rules or limitations. Certain details make shapes look like a mountain or an alien or a tree or a dog or whatever. But how you create your vision should be 50000% up to you. If you want your mountain to be covered in frosting and look like a cupcake, great! Do it!! If you want to pull the shape of a dog out of a series of scribbles, DO IT!!! If you want an alien with 16 eyes, 4 sets of fins, tenticles, with slimey goop on its skin thats also rooted in the ground like a carrot and sings to his garden to help the plants grow... Lets find that alien and bring it to life!

Art is not meant to simply copy projects. Art is meant to inspire creativity and artistic drive. It is meant to inspire projects that tell stories untold to anyone but your own heart. You

I have been working with a company called Pancakes and Booze and have shown with them in three states. I am currently working with an administrator to bring them to Reno for Artown next summer!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Does the potential candidate have your creative expression in mind or are they just trying to sell you some lessons? Are you going to be allowed to challenge the boundaries of known reality or are you going to show up and paint your sky blue and your trees green and paint them where you're told? I mean if thats for you lets do it! But also don't be afraid to be crazy!!!

WORKSHOPS AND PRIVATE PARTIES!

$25-60 per person / $5 materials fee for some projects

$10 buddy pass! Bring a friend for only ten more dollars! Split the cost and save some money (limit one buddy pass per person. Buddys cannot use a buddy pass)!

PRIVATE CLASSES!

$40/class due upon arival or

$30/class (with minimum 1 class weekly commitment)

$100/5 classes or 8 hours of class time / one, one time up-front package purchase. Choose 5 workshops or design a class or project to build on over time. Come for one class a week, one class a day for a week, or or hang out for 4 hours a day for two days. You run this class. You tell me what you want to create and I will be the instruction manual.
