About Paige
Currnently I am teaching art in Savannah, Georgia. Studio lessons are designed specifically for adult and youth in choice of materials and subjects. STUDIO classes available on Mondays & ONLINE CLASSES AVAILABLE on your schedule.~My students love it. If distance keeps you from studio classes, note online classes are of interest in your request.

I love sharing all that I have learned in drawing, painting and printmaking. My former art teachers were generous and supportive with their time and techniques. My goals throughout my career and still today are to stay current in the art world, to know exactly who is right in front of me and to seek platforms to share my work. The creative process is most enjoyable because while your main idea is being executed, new ideas emerge. Sometime these ideas come from a mistake or unexpected mark which can make the idea even better.

My decision to pursue art education surfaced at the library late one night while I was researching articles for my major at the time child psychology. An article that struck my attention was about children as artists and how early mark-making can reveal much. Fortunately my college had the option to get a degree in art education, so I immediately put in the transfer request! My early positions were in museums, small private schools and summer camps. A young camper mentioned his art teacher just quit, so I called the school immediately and landed the job. I have devoted my career to bringing the best program to my students, share my work with peers and continue making art along the way.
My degree and masters in Art education courses included foundational methods to teach art and produce art. The studio classes I focused on and currently practice today are drawing, painting and printmaking. Printmaking is wonderful in that the process relies on both drawing and painting.

I like to start with listening to student goals, generating ideas for content and begin with tips to get materials moving.
I have worked with all ages and skill levels of students. Because of this experience, I am able to assess the needs of each student and provide personalized learning. Right now I teach art with large groups that attend simply because art is on the schedule and small groups who have elected to take art. I am happy to provide structure and exploration for all students.

As new residents in Savannah and already connected to the communities where we live and work, we had the opportunity to take a boat ride through the marshes of Tybee with one of my husbands colleaugues. I loved being part of the marsh. The natural surroundings are incredible here and inspirational. Like the Camellia's blooming in January!
