About Anastasia
7 years of experience with students of different ages and abilities. I enjoy working with students one on one and in small groups since that helps to focus on their weak sides and work them out. I try not only to help students memorize techniques but ask them to create new ways of solving problems which stimulates their creative thinking. As a nonstop student, I know that confidence is the key to any course. The more you practice, the more confident you get. So I never lose a minute at my classes and try to maximize productivity.
My teaching style depends upon the learning preferences of the student, as I know each student has their own way of learning.
I’ve worked for Volkswagen, Deloitte, Anheuser Busch as a Financial Analyst, preparing for CFA level III at the moment.
I like the learning that goes on as I prepare and teach a class. I like the process of organizing complex and new materials into teachable units. I love crafting stories about what I am teaching and watching how they get better over years.I like, as well, the moments when students tell you how you mattered in their lives. I like it when people, after they leave college, have great respect for our discipline because of a class they took with me. As a teacher, I believe I have a reason for doing what I’m doing. It helps bring value and meaning to my life.
When I was in the university and tried to find a job that would let me not only earn the money but also to learn myself

I try to equally spread not only my time but my attention to each student. I analyze my lessons right after we finish. Another thing - I try to communicate individually with each student once in two weeks for 15 minutes over the phone to make sure each of them feels comfortable and gets enough of my attention. Plus I try to balance the number of answers of each student instead of letting only one or two students answer all the questions
I've worked with students of absolutely different ages and abilities; Up to 70% of all my students went to middle/high school or university. But I do enjoy working with little children and adults as well.
- talk to all of your potential teachers in person/over video
- ask how much homework you'll get and see whether you'll be able to keep up with that pace
- talk about your learning style: what's the best way you can remember things?
Last weekend, I invited my friends over to my house for a dinner and cooked a lot of russian food for them. I had one of the best times in my entire life with them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
As mentioned in the question above, learning style is #1. Personality type: are you shy? do you like to talk? or prefer more to listen and then submit you answers in writing? What is your long-term goal for these tutoring sessions (one year)? short-term(3 months)?
What is your plan if you're not ready for the class? Are you going to cancel/ try to work on a different topic/ suggest any other solutions to your professor ?

Anastasia helped my daughter to get to the top of her class in Pre-algebra I. Anastasia is a great teacher not just because she understands math, nor just because she is friendly and kind , but because she also understands student motivation and how to sequence learning so that math is fun, never overwhelming, and yet knowledge can improve systematically.
I hired Anastasia for my son to help him catch up with his Geometry class. He got an A for his final exam, and we both were extremely happy.
Anastasia is an amazing teacher, she always tries to complete as much during the class as possible. I was preparing for my Math exam with Anastasia, and I got 92% which improved my GPA and gave me so much confidence in my math knowledge.
