About Joseph

I am passionate about students getting the education that they deserve and keeping up with their studies. I strongly encourage designating uninterupted time for both studying and learning.

I am currently a Music Production student at Seattle Pacific University, but I also love learning about English, creative writing and literature, and grammar.

I graduated from Ontario Christian High School in 2018. Additionally, I received the "Outstanding Music (Band-Sousa) Award." I was a low-brass section leader in the OC band, a student conductor, and the bass section leader in Chorale (an auditioned choir). Additionally, I was involved in both my school's jazz band and pep band playing 1st trombone.

I have also volunteered at Mclure Middle School in Seattle, WA in music related classes in 2019.

Currently, my main instrument is voice (baritone), but I still dabble in trombone as well as ukulele and a little bit of guitar and piano.

I am committed to creating an atmosphere of positive reinforcement and encouragement. Furthermore, I am passionate about finding creative and fun ways to study materials that might otherwise seem boring or unimportant to students.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, the first step I'd like to take is getting to know them, and in some cases, their parent(s)/guardian(s). Together we will asses the student's current situation and we will discuss what specific goals the student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) desire. To achieve these goals, we will create a realistic plan of action for the student.

I have worked with middle school students in music related classes.

Just before shelter-in-place I got to go on a trip to the mountains in Washington with six of my friends. This included hiking, canoeing, skipping rocks, watching movies, and lots of board games!
