About Mari
I understand the frustration of not understanding, and am always willing to teach you piano skills that not only will you use but that you can enjoy. I focus a lot on sight reading so that you can continue to progress, and so you can play whatever you would like, whenever! I am always willing to try to teach you your way, so that you learn the best you possibly can!
I enjoy helping people learn. I remember the first time I was able to play a song by sight reading it and I felt so proud. I want to be able to help students do that as well. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment that comes with hard work, and enjoy being able to do that.
I wanted to share the things that I have learned with other people. Helping other people to accomplish their goals is the best!
I have taken 6+ years of piano, and have taken classes in general teaching strategies. Having gone through numerous piano teachers myself, I also have many ideas from them.

I first try to get to know you, and see what you already know. Then I would like to know what your goals are, and what you would like to do during our lessons. Then I just want to jump right in and start working on becoming even better,
Hire a teacher who is passionate about teaching. I would not recommend a teacher who is only passionate about piano. Hire a teacher you feel comfortable around, and a teacher who is willing to help you meet your goals whatever they may be.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what you want, need, and expect. Think about what it is that you are excited about, and ask to do those things.
