About Benjamin
Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing a pupil connect with material in a way that affects their lives. I love to teach because I love helping students gain the skills requried for high level, critical thinking that can apply not only to the material they're covering, or the tests they need to take, but to their own worldviews and actions. I love helping students gain the confidence they need to tackle any subject or reading!
I hold a MA in Philosophy from Miami University of Ohio, with a certificate in Teaching from Miami University of Ohio's Center for Teaching Excellence.
While my degree is in philosophy, I do have two years of teaching experience at the college level. I know the standards and practices set by leading scholars, and am amply prepared to help your student succeed in writing, reading, speech, and critical thinking. These skills are arguably fundamental to all others, so I love sharing them with students!
I am also compotent in US history, litreature, editing, and basic logic.
In my MA program. I had guest lectured a class in my undergraduate career but I really sunk my teeth in teaching during my graduate program. I aboslutely fell in love with it. I love seeing students connect ideas and grow into their education!
I have a MA in Philosophy, and have 2 years of teaching experience. I am very experienced in lecturing, workshopping papers, editing, writing prompts, and guiding students through the basics of research and idea development.

I like to meet with them first and really learn how and what they'd like to improve. I also really like knowing where they're at, so I can meet them there too!
I have worked with a diverse group of students, including international and exchange students!
Just talk to them! See if they are a good fit for you. I think the key to learning is often overcoming one's own emotional connection to the material, or even building up one's confidence!
