I could sit here and tell you that writing is my passion and I'm going to pass that on to you and help you write amazing things in order to sway your opinion, but at the end of the day, it is important to do what is going to be best for you.

I can promise patience and promptness, and I will do my very best to teach you things that will not only improve your writing but the way you approach your [writing] assignments as well.

There is few things greater than watching someone that you have been working with, do well on their own.

While I could benefit from repeat customers, the less you feel you need me, the better a job we have done together.

I have always liked to teach and help people; in high school I spent my study halls with classmates who had learning disorders to help them with their school work/homework or just to hang out. This continued, and the summer before I started my first semester of my undergrad, I was working at Pelican Harbor as a Toddler Swim Instructor. Then when school started i was given the opportunity to become a writing tutor and I stuck with that until I graduated. I work at a daycare now so my patience has grown even more than it was, and I still tutor people that I met at school as they continue their academic careers.

I have a bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature and spent several years training and working as a Writing Tutor in the Academic Center at the University I attended; helping both undergraduate and graduate students.

About the lesson

The most important step is getting to know you, what you struggle with, and the way you learn. From there we can establish a foundation that will enable you to get tutoring help that will most benefit you. We'll read over your papers together and talk it out the whole way through.

I am currently 23, but I have been (officially) tutoring since I was 19 and many of the people I tutored were undergraduates around my age. However, I did tutor many who were pursuing their Master's or PHD; I have experience working with young children and tutoring high school students, and on occasion students whose first languages are not English.

The easiest thing to do when you're struggling is take a deep breath and maybe a small step away from your assignment. Read it out loud and see how it sounds before you officially decide how you feel about it.

Pick someone who is going to be patient with you as you work through and over your frustrations, and will work to help motivate you towards the finish

Don't be afraid to ask questions! Even if you think you SHOULD know the answer, or if you might be worried that it is a "dumb" question.
