About Taliyah

I provide a down to earth and enthusiastic attitude when tutoring my students. This allows me to get to know my students as a friend and mentor that can guide them through the tough path of K-12 and into college.

I enjoy helping anyone in need and helping to get students out of their shell and comfortable with any subject they might have to deal with.

I am a recent graduate and am looking to make a small income sharing my knowledge of how college classes are and what quality of work professors are looking for.

Graduated with an honors diploma at Northwestern High School in 2016. There I took college credit and accelerated English classes.

Recently graduated Nova Southeastern University in May 2019 with a degree in Environmental Science. There I took English classes for credit and wrote a great deal of research and scientific essays and reports.

About the lesson

I would get to know the student and how best they learn. I would develop a homework and study schedule for the student that works best with their schedule. I will then assist the student with any assignments that they are particularily struggling with and give them tips and advice on how to best approach these difficult tasks.

I have worked with students both in elementary and middle school when I was in college. However, I do also have a great deal of customer service experience along with my education that has allowed me to experience working with a variety of people from elementary to college.

I would advice that the student would prepare what assignments they need help on before meeting with their tutor and also bring along a schedule for their classes and other activities so that the tutor can help to organize their study times.

I was very fond of my recent internship where I was able to work with young elementary school students and guide them through an activity where they had to diagnose and examine a pretend sick sea turtle. I worked with multiple groups of student from age 6 to 10 and helped them use multiplication and division methods to figure out the size of tank needed for the turtle and how large the turtle would eventually grow.
