About Juliette

Hello! My name is Juliette! I am a college student looking to help students with any tutoring they need. I struggled with English for many years because my primary language is Russian. I was adopted from Russia when I was 6 years old. Over the years I have found a passion and interest in tutoring and helping students with essay writing, punctuation, and study skills. I struggled for many years with English speaking and writing, but I ended up getting a great tutor that helped me along the way. Due to this, I have a lot of patience and many strategies to help students! I would love to help students and improve their skills in writing! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to set up a tutoring session for your kid(s).

I started tutoring because I saw how much I struggled at first, but with the right tutor and help, I improved dramatically! After I got a good grip on English speaking and writing, I saw how I learned so many new skills from my tutor that I wanted to help others in need.

I do not have any certifications, but I have taken many years of English and writing classes. I am a junior in college, so I have taken many years of English and writing classes throughout my years in high school and college.

About the lesson

Patience is key! Many students struggle with English and writing. I did when I was younger, and that is nothing to be ashamed of! Some students learn faster than others, and I am here to help and get students up to speed and even ahead of speed. English and writing should be a fun thing to do, but students struggle, and losing your patience with them is not the right way to handle a situation. Students are more stressed than people know, so giving them the help they need and showing you care by being patient with them is the best way to go!

I have worked with all sorts of students. In high school I worked in a program called ILC. It is a program with students who have disabilities and I was the English and art tutor for that program. I helped many students with grammar and punctuation, and art techniques, and I saw many improvements. While working at the program, I also was tutoring fellow classmates and students in younger grades.

Some advice I would give to a student would be to pick a tutor that you get along with. If you see yourself having a problem with your tutor, then why hire them? As a student, you need someone who is willing to guide you rather than stress you out more. You need someone who understands the situation and can help you get through it.

Something that has made me really proud of myself with tutoring would be when I helped a friend out with their English essay. My friend had many problems with editing and writing her essay, so she asked for my help and advice. After everything was written and edited she told me I was a great tutor and that I am the only person she likes to go to for help with her essays! She told me that she appreciated how caring and patient I was with her and her work. This meant a lot to me because I have always loved helping others with school work and having great feedback given to me made me feel more motivated to help others.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students need to think about how to get their point across to their teacher/professor with respect. They need to clearly understand what their problem is and find a respectful way to address it to their teachers to get the best help and advice.
