About Kristin
As a previous tutor in Waco Texas for a non for profit tutoring program, I learned to interact with kids. This helped me develop patience and an understanding of why people have difficulty with learning. I also created fun ways to break these difficult barriers for learning for all ages. I have a major in biology and a minor in chemistry- but I’m best at writing and editing. I used to edit scientific journals for the botany department at Baylor university.
ps- I have been a supplemental instructor for college courses but I’ve also worked at kumon learning center for ages k-12.
Volunteering after school at the “underprivileged” after school program ran by the Red Cross at Baylor.

- Restoration haven (after school tutoring for 3 years)
- nannied and taught elementary school kids how to write and read
- have worked in the editing department st Baylor university ( my alma matter)

Under normal circumstances I would meet with the student or parents and the child over some coffee shop of some sort. Explain what their child or self is having issues with. I usually will be taking notes during this time so I can create a schedule at that time. If not a solid schedule, a rough draft of when I would need to be free. This will be different because I will most likely do all tutoring online due to the corona pandemic. It I have tutored via webcam before as well!

Details
I usually go by the hour- for kids I charge $17 an hour, for college kids it’s $20. And it depends on if I have to buy materials for a lesson- I may ask for it to be paid for.
