About Savanah

I love to work with children of all ages. I believe in helping out others and generally enjoy watching students learn.

I was asked by a family friend if I could help their son, and I really enjoyed it and the rewarding feeling of being able to help him understand his education and bring his grades up.

I am currently a senior in high school and soon to be graduating, and moving onto nursing school. I have been a tutor for multiple kids in the past.

About the lesson

I speak to both the parent(s) and student to make sure I am listening and able to help in every area that I am needed in.

I have worked with all kinds of students. I work with all ages and I am open to any obstacles in life.

I would say to ask parents for help in choosing a tutor. They need to be on board and be an advocate when tutors and students may not see eye to eye. I think having someone who is still in school, closer to your child's age would be better than adults just because they remember what it was like to struggle in school, and your child may be less stubborn about talking to their tutor.

A student of mine actually came up to me crying one day. I asked him what's wrong and all he could do was hug me. He finally was able to understand something a teacher taught him instead of constantly struggling and being lost. I teach for the child that needs me, in their style and with what works for them.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why do I need? Where am I truly struggling? Why can't I learn in class? What needs to be done in order for me to learn in the most efficient way possible?
