About Kurt

Hi, I'm Kurt. I'm a freelance editor and author who's first novel is coming out August 25th under my pen name. Though, I usually use my pen name as my editing name, I really want to get to know everyone I work with. And soon, I'll start using my name everywhere. It's a pleasure to meet you all! I adore everything about what I do. I love and breathe writing and symbolism. I make music, and I adore searching for deeer meanings. I'm the man if you need to analyze a book, a paper, or even yourself.

I was an advanced kid, and I was a teacher's aid for a long time. The teacher's were packed with kids that didn't know what they were doing. It was totally normal, but I really wanted to help them. So, I sat down and did for most of my school time. I finished homework really early, but I always wanted to help the young kids and peers I had.

I'm an author, and I've written 2 complete books. Currently, I am working on a few others. My first book is being published. I edit for a living, editing non-fiction and novels alike. I have had about a dozen paid clients, and several others that I did as a self-deemed intern. I graduated from high school at 15, but I really graduated at 14 as by the time I was 15 I was doing college full time. They just didn't give me my diploma. During the time I was in school, I tutored several children in math, science, reading and more. I also tutored young adults from ages 12-20. My love for tutoring extends from the youngest to the oldest.

About the lesson

Constant communication is always available. I always ask what you want to learn and improve on, and if you don't quite yet have the answer, I'll help you narrow it down to key points; so when you improve, you feel accomplished. Then, together, we make a plan of attack.

I've worked with kindergarteners all the way up to seniors. Though I'm better with older kids and young adults than younger kids, I love working with everyone. Adults are my personal favorite as those also take part into my editing business. However, I have worked with almost everyone from special needs to Spanish-only speaking to much more.

Make sure you feel comfortable, is the advice I want to give you before you seek out a tutor. English and writing are so dependent on opinion. There is no right and wrong like in math or chemistry. There is only the interpretation and skill of the person helping you. Trust your tutor. Believe in them.

I travel a lot when I can. I recently went to the Mayan ruins in Copan, Honduras. It was an incredible experience that opened my eyes to so many things.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about "Can I search easily for this answer on a search engine?" Think about things like "Why am I stuck on this? Am I supposed to know more than I do? Am I moving too fast? Do I need to redo something from before?" Self analyze yourself, so when you come to me, I can help you right away.

Details

Pricing systems depend on the financial situation of the student and or their family. Typically, when editing, I charge per word; so, if you are giving me an essay, I will charge per word of the essay written or required to be written. 1 cent per word. For my hourly rate, depending on the subject, can go for 10-30 dollars an hour. (The more expensive, the more complex the subject.)
