About
I taught in New York City for ten years for the NYS Dept.
I earned my BA at Hunter College.
I then went on to gain my MST in Teaching English at Fordham University.
Thereafter, I earned my certification in Adolescent Special Education grades 7-12, at Pace University.
I was recognized by EPIC Theatre Ensemble, as English Teacher of the Year (2014-2015).
I eventually relocated to Texas and there, I earned my certification as a Reading Interventionist and an English as a Second Language Teacher, grades 7-12.
Thus far, I have been teaching in Texas for 5 years. Overall, I have been teaching and working in the education arena for fifteen years.
I enjoy working in low-income, high needs districts. Many of my students sadly, do not always have the basic resources to learn and utilize, but their desire to learn runs deep.
I enjoy what I do very much. I am fortunate to have the experience of seeing kids come in with areas that may be a bit low, or they may not be strong at, and then seen them work diligently to master those skills. They do it with a teacher's help of course, but their internal motivation of wanting to do and be better at something, is what propels them.
